LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Ambac Financial Group Inc. /quotes/comstock/13*!abk/quotes/nls/abk (ABK 0.84, -0.04, -5.10%) said Tuesday it is delaying the announcement of its 2009 results and the filing of its annual form 10-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In a notification to the regulator explaining the delay, Ambac said it is evaluating the need for additional or modified disclosures as a result of ongoing discussions with financial counterparties and the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance of the State of Wisconsin. "The company anticipates that the outcome of these discussions could have a material impact on the disclosure and financial statements included in its form 10-K" Ambac said.
